What can Paul do for you?

Paul Rumble is here simply to help you do those things you shouldn't be doing... which he calls "the other stuff". By allowing him to manage projects on your behalf, or letting him run a particular aspect of your company's administrative function, you can spend more time carrying out your core business tasks and servicing your own clients.

Paul provides business operational support services to his clients in three ways:

Project Management

80% of projects either fail within the first six months of implementation or are never completed. Paul's project management skills will improve the chances that your implementations are a success. From definition to delivery he will ensure that the stakeholders are committed to achieving the results you need. His planning expertise will ensure proper task management, clear project audits and agreed monitoring criteria. Under agreed time, quality & cost specifications, he can help take you into the 20% success band.

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)

By outsourcing your business processes to Paul, allowing him to manage the processes on your behalf, you can focus on your core business, building competitive advantage and improving bottom-line results. This is not just a case of "farming out" selected functions of your company's operations. Paul will help you to completely restructure and redefine the way your organisation works, by implementing and managing new processes. Where appropriate, Paul will act as an executive for your company, white-labelling himself on your behalf.

Operational Analysis, Advice and Recommendation

Quite often, all that is required in order to improve your operational efficiency is a fresh pair of eyes. By undertaking an analysis project, Paul will spend time working alongside you and your team to examine the way your organisation actually works (including the working environment, the business processes and the company culture). He will then report the results of his analysis and provide advice as to how you can improve the efficiency of your business operations.

Operational Management and Consultancy

Paul's general management and operational experience can ensure your processes perform efficiently. Throughout his career, Paul has constantly asked, "Why are we doing it like this?" The answers to that question will inevitably help to bring more efficient ways of doing things, and help you to better understand your processes and operational functions.

In addition to that, as companies grow there becomes a need for more and more paperwork, just to carry out the simplest functions. It is no longer efficient for one person to be responsible for a single process; documentation is required to ensure that this process is understood and easily managed by all staff. Paul can help you define your processes and document them so that they are quick and efficient. Your company shouldn't be a bureaucratic monster, but Paul can ensure your policies and practices are easy to use and well managed. This can include the production of policy documents, handbooks, computer templates, forms - basically any of the tools you require to ensure that your processes run smoothly.

Paul has also gained extensive experience in integration of systems, processes and procedures as part of the Mergers & Acquisitions process, including in-depth knowledge of the Due Diligence process.

And on top of the more strategic services, Paul can also offer general administration services to take care of the basic day-to-day running of your office.

Talent Management and Development

It is often said that people are your greatest asset. We can help you ensure your staff believe you mean it.

Paul can support your PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING efforts and will assist your staff to develop with your business and have the skills you require, ensuring appropriate appraisal systems are used.

Your culture is exceptionally important in keeping your team engaged. Paul can help you to define and articulate the values your company represents. He also has extensive experience running ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMMES which assess the levels of staff engagement, provide improvement schedules, and align engagement to your cultural definitions.

He can help you keep your staff on-board as you go through ORGANISATIONAL CHANGE, in particular merger/acquisition integration programmes, organisational restructures and office openings/closures.

In addition, he can offer general HUMAN RESOURCES ADMIN SUPPORT from payroll to pensions, record keeping to recruitment.

All this helps us to keep staff turnover low and motivation high.

Nothing is more important to Paul than his little black book of contacts and the relationships/partnerships he has built up with them during his thirty year (almost) career of operational and business management.

As part of any consultancy contract, he can offer these partnerships to you, and manage the supplier/provider relationship on your behalf.

Workplace management

Your workplace needs to reflect the culture, nature and size of your business, but also needs to evolve to meet the strategic demands of your business goals.

Traditionally, this has translated to either expansion or rearrangement of the existing office space or relocation to a new facility. Increasingly companies are looking to more flexible working practices including "hot-desking" and remote working or telecommuting. Managing each of these options calls on specific skill sets and project management disciplines.

Often the burden of organising these projects falls on staff members whose existing workloads are high. This can lead to lost focus, project slippage and higher costs.

As a business operations support professional, Paul Rumble has gained experience in change management, business process reengineering and problem resolution and this gives him the ability to successfully navigate these issues for you. He has also secured partnerships with a number of approved suppliers, interior architects, contracted builders and specialist tradesmen, allowing him to effectively manage the implementation of the solution that best fits your needs.

Whether refurbishing your existing workspace, relocating your business to new premises or introducing more flexible working practices, he will ensure that the transition causes minimum disruption to your normal business operations. Paul will manage the process from the initial consultation, through the provision of necessary business services and appropriate Service Level Agreements, to the logistics of the implementation. In addition to generic project management skills, Paul also provides appropriate expertise in more specialist fields, such as landlord and Managing Agent liaison, lease discussions, Health & Safety guidance, personnel matters and relevant technology.

Information and Communication Technology

One of the simplest ways Paul can help the operational management of your business is by undertaking business process outsourcing. In other words, Paul takes on the role of your IT Director. You can harness his technical skills and knowledge without having to invest in the employment of your own senior IT person, whilst also benefiting from the cost savings he can achieve in negotiating bulk discounts for all his clients. Paul is a CITP (Chartered Information Technology Professional) and a member of the British Computer Society.

The first step is for Paul to undertake an audit of your systems and provide advice for updates and improvements where necessary. Ongoing strategy consultancy will ensure that your network is kept up-to-date in terms of software, security and technology.

Paul's day-to-day management of your network maintenance contracts will ensure that your system is monitored regularly so that proactive maintenance can take place, ensuring problems are solved before they become major incidents. This will also help your network security and maintain a system that is free of viruses and other harmful attacks.

As part of a proactive and preventative maintenance procedure, we also recommend software training programmes to ensure that your staff are making the most of the investment you've made. Paul can arrange these programmes and can also provide group or one-on-one training personally.

Finally, he can utilise his project management skills to ensure that any upgrades and installations are carried out with minimal disruption to your normal business and with very little hassle to your staff.

Facilities and Equipment

The purchasing and maintenance of office equipment and facilities is often a burden taken on by team members who already have a full-time role. Paul Rumble's experience in running multiple office locations, often across different geographical regions and countries, allows him to offer a complete management service for all your office needs, including photocopying/printing, security, housekeeping, HVAC, audio-visual.

He maintains partnerships and agreements with various trusted suppliers and maintenance organisations, and can offer these to you whilst managing the relationship on your behalf.
